A fundamental new way of vacationing is becoming the trend as a younger generation of travelers has pushed hotels and resorts to offer much more than just a room and a restaurant.
This newer group of tourists is interested in more than their parents generation, and the tourism market is filling this need with hotels with yoga and wellness.
Yoga Retreat Centers are opening in many travel areas, especially tropical places like Costa Rica.
Beach towns in Costa Rica with a focus on tourism, such as Montezuma or Santa Teresa in the Nicoya Peninsula, have many retreat centers to do yoga, and these hotels and retreat centers vie for who can build the most gorgeous space.
Retreat Centers such as Anamaya or Ylang Ylang in Montezuma have a large wooden deck overlooking the ocean, fulfilling every yoga lover’s dream about what tropical paradise should look like on their vacation. This kind of yoga deck is very photogenic, and of course this helps a hotel or retreat center to succeed in getting guests, since so many vacationers choose their vacation accommodations based primarily on the photos of the places they hope to go to.
Teachers of yoga from a variety of countries have come to Costa Rica for various yoga retreats and have fallen in love with this tropical paradise. Now many of them work for various hotels and resorts, or offer private yoga classes at their homes or in the many luxurious Costa Rica rental houses.
Because of all these new and talented yoga teachers into Costa Rica, the tourist towns, such as Santa Teresa now a variety of yoga options. While it’s not always the case, the men go surfing and the girls do yoga.
There’s also a new type of vacation accommodation, known as a Wellness Resort. Such places usually offer Yoga as an integral part of a greater program dedicated to their clients’ total health. This will usually include healthy elements such as meditation, nutritional counseling, vegetarian or vegan diet, and internal cleansing programs.
Travelers who have spent a week or so at a Wellness Resort often find that not only are they more happy and relaxed, but they take back some of what they’ve learned about their bodies and their health, and so they continue their new improved lifestyles back home.
Sometimes these wellness retreats begin with fasting as part of their official cleansing program. After a few days with nothing but juice, you will begin to add other foods, such as fruits and vegetables. At times they are raw and usually they’re organic.
To further assist to detox the system, these resorts will offer a regimen of therapies such as a sauna, massage (such as lymph drainage), colonic irrigation, and acupuncture. Many include a professional yoga program for putting pressure on the internal organs of the belly using the appropriate poses for each.
After several days of this, most clients feel quite a difference, but that can depend on how healthy they are to begin with. Clients sometimes learn they have food allergies that they never knew about, such as a wheat allergy. Others notice they gain clearer eyes, healthier-looking skin, and much better sleep.
If you’re interested in traveling to Costa Ricasoon, you might want to experience a wellness, yoga, or detox retreat for your personal needs. Like so many that have attempted this before you, you’ll most likely return to your life with noticeable improvements in your health.
